Move Forward

Podcast is now available for this blog post. Listen here.

I’ve learned that the harder it seems to move forward, is when I know that I must, despite of the circumstance. It can seem harder to move forward when you realize you have to face something that you don’t want to. That could be facing a present reality, facing the truth, facing it on your own, or even something that much impacting, facing a hurt for a greater gain of forgiveness. Such is life, sometimes you need to deal with things that you just don’t want to and instead of moving forward with that, you can become complacent and choose to settle, because well, it’s simpler that way.

However, life isn’t meant to be for you to just settle. You can find yourself settling a lot until you realize what it is that you are supposed to have and then begin to walk in your divine prosperity. Sometimes you can find yourself cast down in a situation because you chose not to look at the situation differently but focus solely on what you see in front of you. There is always another way. There is always another answer. Sometimes the better answer can simply be finding a different solution and it may not necessarily be the one you want but it’s the right one for the time. It could also be moving forward by not doing anything at all. Sometimes you can find yourself doing too much. Moving forward is not always going ahead and finishing something; sometimes it moving forward by not doing things the ways you have been used to and finally taking a moment for yourself to breathe, to collect yourself, and evaluate the situation differently.

Moving forward is going ahead with realizing that there is more than one way to produce an outcome. As the saying goes, there is more than one way to skin a cat. So don’t get stuck where you are because you feel that it’s the only way, no there is another way. Redefine the way you think by having the patience to know that the answer you are looking for may not be what you think it should be, it could very well be something completely different. It could be something you never thought of before but you can only get to that epiphany of a thought as you are in the waiting process, unblocked from the same mindset of contradiction.

Yes, we will all experience at some point in our life the feeling like our feet is buried in cement, as if you are stuck and there is no other opportunity to give you what is needed. Although this can happen, it’s not the end. Some of the things that can cause us to seem trapped or delayed in accomplishing our goals and fulfilling our desires come from making really basic choices. Here are some ways that may be holding you back from taking that forward step or are ways that have you moving forward to much, too soon.

  • Fear
    • Fear, the thing that can cause you not to take that step into a new thing or cause you to continue to remain still in the same trauma. I believe that fear is also a perception that fuels deceit based from your emotion. You have a choice on whether or not fear will overtake you. You get to make the decision on whether you will remain cowardly or become courageous. “For God did not give us a spirit of fear….” 2 Timothy 1:7 and by this we should know that anything that God did not give us means that it is against us. Giving in to your own fear is you fighting against your own-self. “What causes quarrels and what causes fights among you? Is it not this, that your passions are at war within you?” James 4:1 Some of us are at war within ourselves; we try to shake off the deafening feeling of defeat and hurt by targeting others with harsh words and unkindness. We fight others with the same malice of discontent that is on the inside. Having such deceit of fear take control of you can cause relationships ruined and missed blessings. Take control of what is trying to take control over you. Do this by using what spirits God did give us, which is not fear, but Power, Love, and a Sound Mind. Pray this word over your life and accept that God reigns his chosen spirits in your life.
  • Procrastination
    • Yes, well, we all can procrastinate. You may not think that you are or that you ever have but just as sure as you keep on breathing procrastination is very common, especially when there is something big that you are working on, especially when you have a dream that seems a million miles away to touch, procrastination kicks in and there you are, years later, saying, “you know, I bet I could have been finished with that if I had started it when I said I was.” Who has ever said that? Definitely Me Procrastination is one of the easiest traps to fall into not making a sound choice simply because procrastination usually means you are wavering over something. It means that you are hesitant. This is not always a bad thing. If you are not sure about something or feel that it is too hasty of a decision, do yourself a long term favor and wait. Be patient, pray, pray, and pray some more. There is something that is in the delay that God wants you to see and often times we become too hasty because we want it so bad to only end up crying and pleading for God to deliver us. So, although procrastination is not generally viewed as a likely behavior to have, it’s a behavior or an alert as I say that gives you an opportunity to wait and make the best sound choice. You shouldn’t move forward in something that is really not meant for you.
  • Negative way of thinking
    • A negative way of thinking can come from many things but I can tell you that it almost always can involve a bad attitude. Once you embed in your heart that “it is”, then guess what it is. It is horrible. It is a disappointment. It is untrustworthy. It is unreliable. It is just the way it is. Then guess what, it is just the way it is. I believe that your mental way of thinking is in connection to the outcome in life. I know from my own personal experiences that I have walked into situations and needing help from others when I know the answer would have been no but my attitude said yes. The difference I was willing to make in my way of thinking was believing that I am going to have what I know is mines to have and that gave a positive vibe and opened favor. Hebrews 4:12 states that “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” I don’t judge, your co-workers don’t judge, the cashier at the grocery store don’t judge but the Holy Ghost does judge and when you become a pitfall of self torment, despising to think any different than the way you are and have always been, your life doesn’t move forward, it revolves in the same slump of disdain that you allow it to. You become like the Israelites wandering around in the same wilderness for 40 years because of your negative mouth and negative way of thinking.
  • Comparison
    • Don’t do it. Yes, I know it can be tempting, especially because of all the social media posts and feel good messages but guess what, you don’t know what a persons actual life is behind closed doors and the prettier the picture the more uglier the reality. Galatians 6:3 states “If anyone thinks they are something when they are not, they deceive themselves.” I mentioned earlier that fear is one of the ways that can prevent you from moving on and within that fear is deceit. Don’t become to a point of comparison because you feel what God blessed you with isn’t enough. Yes, you can have more and if you are faithful over the little you have God will increase you to bigger and better. It is not that you can’t have, but it’s what’s in your heart that is seen. Do you want because you are coveting and see someone else with it? Do you want because it has been a life long desire? Do you want because you want to bless someone else? Whatever your reason is, it is being judged by the creator who sees your heart and knows your every desire. 2 Corinthians 10:12 states that “Not that we dare classify or compare ourselves with some of those who are commending themselves. But when they measure themselves by one another and compare themselves with one another they are without understanding.” Do you understand the revelation for not comparing yourself with others? Short answer, God can bless you too with whatever it is that you desire if it’s within his will for you to have it. The word says you have not because you ask not and that “he will supply all your needs through his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. ” Philippians 4:19 What I picked up from that scripture is need, because some of the things that we want or even have is not because of a need, it’s because we were convinced we needed it because we saw or heard someone else with it or even deeper, we know that someone else wanted it so we beat them to it and got it first. If you are serious about moving forward, don’t compare yourself in the same boat as the other person. If you put yourself in the same boat as the other person then you will miss out on the yacht that God has waiting for you.
  • Negative influences
    • Get far away from people that are always negative. People that don’t fear their own words and laugh in the persecution of others are not people that you want to associate with. If they are so keen on hearing their own mouth speak and putting others down, then you also become a negative influence, guilty by association. 1 Corinthians 15:33 states “Do not be deceived: Bad company ruins good morals.” Great people don’t keep bad company. Bad company can influence even the most single mindedness of a persons character and your character can be slaughtered just like that because of who you choose to be connected to. Moving forward in your life, especially to better and have greater things can only involve people that want to be great too. You can help those that are negative influencers by being an example of how they should be but you can never do that if you are under their feet doing as they do and how they do it. Are they going to teach you or are you going to show them? You know, there are many people that debate Jesus’ character when it came to the people he was around. Yes, Jesus was around sinners but he never stayed in that same place as the sinner, he made his example and he moved on.

Move forward. Regardless if it’s putting in your mind to take the next step, which may seem like the hardest thing you have to do to not making any decision at all and just allowing yourself time to heal, to laugh, to enjoy. One thing is for sure, you’re not meant to stay in the same place you are in. You have been called to go higher and deeper. You have been called to do and go forward to the next chapter in your life.

Until next time my friends, be blessed.

The Power of Tongues~episode 4

Hello to all my readers, I hope you all are doing well.
This is the fourth and final episode of the Open up your Mouth series. Wow, can you believe it? The start of releasing these episodes from introductory devotionals to full fledge commentary has been so awakening for me and has transformed my walking with God. I believe that by investing your time to read this series, a difference will be made in yours also.

So this is where we are, we are in the final episode and I am so excited because this one is probably one that will become a little bit more polished in text on something that we all have access to by faith. As I share my own personal experience, my hope is that you can think back on when your first met Christ and if you haven’t, what you can look forward to.

From the very start, I have been eluding to something key that is important to have, and that is the Holy Spirit. I have mentioned this on several accounts since May but in this particular episode, we are going to talk more about the Holy Spirit, what it is, who it is and how it can be applied to your life.

Are you ready? Let’s move forward.

What is it?

What does it mean to be filled with the Holy Spirt? You may have heard this used before, even read it in the bible. You may even refer to it as the Holy Ghost. They are one in the same. These words can seem foreign if you are ignorant of God’s word.

On account of knowing that not everyone will automatically understand what it means to be filled with the Holy Spirit, I first want to say that there is a difference between the Spirit of God dwelling in you and being filled with the Holy Spirit. You will truly understand this as you continue to study the extent of scripture and receive your own individual revelation as the spirit gives us all in our own way in the way we can comprehend. And with all your acquiring, get understanding, actively seek spiritual discernment, mature comprehension, and logical interpretation. Proverbs 4:7 I can recall times of having conversation about being filled with the Holy Spirit or “the gift of tongues” and I can recall that the only people that was able to relate to my experiences were the ones that received that power as well. Notice that I said receive. Having the power of tongues is a gift. Pursue love, and earnestly desire the spiritual gifts…For one who speaks in a tongue, speaks not to men but to God; for no one understand him, but he utters mysteries in the Spirit.” 1 Corinthians 1-2 You can either refuse a gift or receive a gift. However, gifts are good to receive; they can sometimes even be a surprise. This gift however, isn’t a surprise, it’s knowingly available and ready for you to have to be used by believers for the benefit of the church body.

Who is it?

The difference between the Indwelling of the Holy Spirit and being Filled with the Holy Spirit (the gift of tongues) is found in John 14:16. The indwelling is where Jesus speaks to his disciples about them having another counselor to be with forever in the Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive and take to its heart because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He (the Holy Spirit) remains with you continually and will be in you. Here we find that this is something that Jesus gave to the believers of faith that we should not ever be alone, that we have within us, Him, (the Holy Spirit).

And this is not all. Not only do we have the Spirt of God living within us, we were also blessed with a special gift of power, that same power that we are able to use, and when they had prayed, the place where they were meeting together was shaken ( a sign of God’s presence); and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the word of God with boldness and courage. Acts 4:31 Open up your Mouth boldly and proclaim the Spirit of Truth. Stop trying to use everything else to solve your problem and use what you already have within you.

Why use it?

The contrast of being filled with the Holy Spirit (the gift of tongues) is that this power is disseminated throughout your being, your life. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues (different languages). What is so beautiful about this is that no one knows what you are praying but the Spirit of God. No one knows what you are praying for or WHO you are praying for. It can be your neighbor, it could be someone on the other side of the earth that is in need of help, it could be a co-worker, it could be a family member, it could be a complete stranger. Just because you don’t know who they are, that doesn’t make the power of your tongues any less likely to carry out what the Spirit of Truth needs to have done. It electrifies the presence of God and the Spirit of God sends an army through the power of your tongues to battle for the unknown. Use this power, your power to change life from the inside out.

How to get it?

As I mentioned it is a gift. All you simply need to do is accept it. It was already so. In Acts 2 and 38, Peter said unto them, Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the the gift of the Holy Ghost. In verse 41 it goes on to state then they that gladly received his word were baptized and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

Being filled with the Spirit, speaking in tongues is a continual growth and process. Just because you are filled with it, doesn’t mean that you do nothing further. On the contrary, you have the power to do so much more. Beginning to use your gift and to be able to automatically go to war in the Spirit is done by practice and patience. Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. James 1:3 And as you do it often, it will begin to utter from you without hesitation or pause when needing to interfere over your life. In my own many experiences, there was one when I was driving and I was in my own lane, minding my own business, here comes an 18-wheeler truck merging over without paying attention and was merging over into my lane. The right side of me was a cliff hanger. I had no way to escape, no where else to go outside of the utter that began to rouse from my mouth and I will never forget how that truck dashed back over into his lane and I will never forget how my life was spared through the power of the Holy Spirit.

I can recall at an early age, probably around the age of 5 or 6 how my mother would walk around the house speaking in tongues and speaking the word over her family. She did not shame or hide away from what was different or unheard of. She was set apart. I did not know what was happening but I knew it was of God. One day I grew tired of watching and I knew I wanted the very thing that she had. I wanted that same power to magnetize from my mouth, my inner being as well. I wanted to speak it, I wanted to feel it, and I wanted to become all that God would have for me. I can remember at the age of 9, I was alone in our living room at home, sitting on the floor and opened my bible on my own accord for the very first time. I was led to a certain place which is now one of my favorite books of the bible and that is the book of Ephesians. I rendered myself to God as I silently read about the adoption, acceptance, redemption, and seal of the Holy Spirit. I realized then at a young age that I could not turn away from someone so precious that loves me so greatly to give me his all, to accept me as I am, and even as I was 9 years old, the Lord Jesus Christ had already accepted me then. I trusted him. I trusted his word. I trusted in his grace over my life and every since then I have not turned back. There has always been something about the power of the Holy Spirit that will never leave you, as it was assigned to you. As you open up your mouth to declare and speak boldly the word of God, you will begin to see step-by-step how the work of God is alive and well in you through the manifestation of the Holy Spirit.

The Complete Word Study Dictionary defines this word, “to be filled, to accomplish, persons to be filled, wholly imbued, affected, and influenced.” This word implies a single event taking place and empowering believers for a work of service.

I pray that you accept the gift to become filled with the Holy Ghost and that you are saturated in your hearts and in your minds to receive this special power because it is long over due you. Use this gift to change not only your life but the lives of others, keeping the Great Commission at heart to influence lives and win souls for Christ.

Do continue to Open up your Mouth and speak God’s word.
Don’t be ashamed of the gospel or to do God’s work, for he is not ashamed of you.

Thank you for reading. I pray that you were blessed.

Let Your Love be More than Words~episode 3

Speaking the word of God out of your mouth means that you are giving life to that which you are saying. What you say and what you live by defines the characteristics of who you are. Some of the things that we speak is to hear our own-selves, trying to convince ourselves and others that we are this image. The greatest image that you can have is the light of God shining through you. That is through your words and your actions. Words are powerful and people can listen to you based on your words but they will trust you based on your actions. ….let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth. 1 John 3:18

It reminds me of the scripture in John 13:35 where it says that “by this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love and unselfish concern for one another”. Even if you are not sure how to go about showing love, their was an example already set in motion by Christ our savior over 2,000 years ago. This example was unselfish, obedient, and pure and it was a sacrifice of Christ showing the biggest display of love their is by giving us life, giving us hope, and giving us his truth. His love. Knowing someone by their love is not merely accepting or saying the words “I love you”, its the action that’s placed behind the words. What we say out of our mouth can cause a transformation in someone else’s life from hurt to healed simply by showing an unselfish love.

What is the charge that we as Christian believers have? Our charge is to fulfill The Great Commission and in Matthew 28:19-20 it breaks down what that commission is as “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” This great commission can be fulfilled through touching as many lives as possible on the path that you are on. Do this by speaking the word of God, not your judgement, and not your opinion. Show love through the example of God’s love toward us. Be that example to someone desperate for love. Someone who may be looking for love in all the wrong places.

Although it may seem weighing to fulfill the charge, who said it would be easy but it in itself is pure and the righteous will of God. We say things and speak things that aren’t so righteous all the time but that doesn’t mean that God doesn’t love us, it means that we are a sheep that will always be in need of a shepherd. It means that through our fault, we are made true by an unconditional love.

The charge will cause you to propel further on your Christian journey and as you stretch to believe that there are no limits on what the power of God’s love can do in your life and others, you will begin to see that there are no limits on how God can unfold miracles in your life.

You begin to comprehend that there is a power of limitless possibilities in your life if only you would open up your mouth and believe.

Thank you for reading. I pray that you were blessed.

Be Self-Fulfilled

To fulfill something, it means that an event has occurred to finalize its completion, to finalize a prophesy or a promise. Being fulfilled however, is to fill full or fill up completely. Being self-fulfilled is being complete and satisfied with your own ambitions. On today, we will talk about fulfillment and what it means to be complete in your hopes with being who you are. May the God of hope fill you with all….

Your Own You

There was a blog that I wrote, titled “Your Own You“. That blog was so significant because it highlights the importance of not only being yourself but being empowered in the confidence of who you were created to be. Romans 15:13 highlights the factor that you can be fulfilled with joy and peace. Some try to find their joy in other people or by imitating what other people are doing. In a plea to find self-fulfillment, it is noticeable how you can see that people can make promises, promises that they don’t have the power to make, all in an effort to be seen. “Christians should be imitators of God, so we should make sure we never promise something we cannot fulfill. Since we cannot guarantee our promises, we must let our “Yes” be “Yes” and our “No,” “No.” With God, however, fulfill always means fulfill.” -by Jeremy Ham

There’s a difference in being inspired by someone and then trying to become what that someone is because you feel moved. That’s not your uniqueness. The uniqueness is being inspired by someone and then executing on what is already in you as opposed to executing on what the other person is doing. Trying to be self-fulfilled by someone else’s own ambition can lead you to a miserable and undeserving life. Just be who you are and if you feel that who you are and the potential you have isn’t good enough, you are wrong. “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2: 10 What are you walking in? Let’s read on about this workmanship.

Product of a workmanship

We are the very product formed with a skill and a purpose by God. This is why it is so important to not want to be like someone else or do what someone else is doing because you will miss the thing in which you were created for. How can you walk in your own calling when you are trying to imitate someone else’s? Do you know the line to draw with being inspired by someone or being an imitator of someone? What we are meant to do in our own defined gift is something that God had already prepared long ago. It didn’t happen overnight, yesterday or last week, it happened, long long ago. Now you can be set free, delivered, and made a new creature overnight, yesterday, or last week but our creation and who we are was done before we were even formed. The potential that each person on this earth has been bestowed is uniquely for each person. There is worth in recognizing your own potential and executing in the frame that God gave you.

Trying to operate in another persons skill because you are not sure what it is you are supposed to be doing is a hard fire to put out. With many attempts of striving to be better or do it better than the next you become miserable and exhausted. The unique plan that God has given you is to ultimately serve out his will and for a purpose that is bigger and greater than you.

Love, You

You should love you. Yes, I love you with the love of Christ. In fact, that’s all that any of us owe each other is “to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.” Romans 13: 8 Fullfilling the law to love another is done in action of not committing sins against another. This can be found in Romans the thirteenth chapter. If you don’t fully love your own self, it is so easy to want to love what someone else is doing and trying to have what someone else has. This is coveting and it goes against fulfilling the law. This is why it is so important to be self-fulfilled with the work God has created in you and not trying to fill yourself up with things you are not.

It’s the very reason why some people take on the personality of someone else or try to re-invent someone’s own creativeness or skills because they are walking in an ungodly love and covetousness. Love You, outside of that, the gratification you are looking to achieve becomes unhopeful and meaningless. The pleasure that you desire to get becomes quickly stifled and short pleasing.

God has made you complete. He has already fulfilled you. What is up to you is to surrender your own will, disregarding your imitation of happiness and living in the fulfillment of Joy and Peace that he has already given you.

Open up your Mouth~episode 2

Podcasts are now available listen here.
Greetings FFC readers,
I hope that everyone is doing well. In the first episode of You Have What You Need from the series of Open up your Mouth, I spoke on the importance of believing in God’s word and by it, trusting in the direction you are being led as your steps are guided by the light of God.

The Silent Commune

If you have been following this series, you have read and re-read that you should be bold in opening up your mouth to speak the word, pray the word, and to give praise in all works. When speaking, you are performing an action and its through our action that causes a transformation.

There are many ways to speak, and not all communication is the same. Although Open up Your Mouth is the focal point of this series, the purpose behind it is for you to carry out an action and by that action reap a return. That return is the result of you believing in what you are praying. Therefore I say unto you, what things soever you desire, when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you shall have them. Knowing that in every situation, the opportunity may not be present for you to speak out loud but that doesn’t change how you can commune with God. An act of communication can be done verbally or non-verbally and with The Silent Commune it is done from your heart.

In this episode, it will unveil how you can commune with God and how in every way, he still hears you. As before mentioned, every situation does not allow you to speak aloud or even pray out loud, but its still important to know that irregardless, your silent prayers and communication with God is still heard.

A humbled heart of prayer

What does commune mean? Commune according to a biblical commentary means to have quiet time with God. It means to focus on God and have an intimate communication by sharing your heart and mind with God in prayer. It is significant to silently pray and talk to God. There are so many places around the world that are restricted from praying let alone speaking openly about their faith and with such a freedom that so many of us have, we choose not to use, to help others or even to help ourselves. When praying out loud you can feel more confident and it is also necessary for others to agree with you in prayer. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. However, praying silently can yield the same confidence but in way of your faith. You don’t have anyone to observe you praying or agreeing with you, instead you get to have an intimate time with God and it is then, when you truly show yourself and how humble you really are.

Of course there will be silent prayers to God. How can there not be? There is such an emphasis on corporate prayer, and much needed, but it is not as nearly told enough that God hears you when it’s only you and him. It’s how come you can feel like if you don’t have anyone holding your hand or praying with you that God won’t hear or honor your prayer or that your prayer doesn’t have power. Your prayers are honored by God as you come to him in all prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, letting your prayers be known to him. Your prayers are not refused if you don’t have someone each time standing by and holding your hand. This isn’t to say that you can’t have a prayer partner or other people praying for you. It is to say when they are not around what then do you do? If having someone always with you to pray is necessary, does your faith then rely in man or does your faith rely in the power of God. The power is in your faith.

We can see this very power in the old testament, where Hannah is seen praying silently in 1 Samuel 1:12-13. Now Hannah, she spoke in her heart; only her lips moved, but her voice was not heard: therefore Eli thought she had been drunken. Fast forward>>>>> You will find in verse 20 that her request was granted and that request was a son, named Samuel. The name Samuel is a Hebrew phrase that means God has heard. Praying and communicating with God silently will not deny your request. He wants you to come to him humbly with all meekness and affection. The power lies within your humility. As you can see, Hannah made her requests known to God by speaking from her heart as she spoke to him in all surrender. She made a vow to God and he answered. There is not a wrong way with how you choose to commune and pray to God but it does need to come from your heart and with humility. A principle I believe is critical for prayer: whenever you approach the throne of God, be yourself. -T.D. Jakes When Women Pray.

Your time with God

Hannah, this devoted woman of the Bible is one of my favorite and there is so much to be learned from her story. I discussed Hannah in a previous blog that you can read more about which was titled, Your Own You. Hannah’s story is such an incredible one because during her time of affliction of not being able to bear a child, she was still persistent in her prayers. It is not exactly mentioned verbatim about silent prayer in the bible but it is referred to as praying alone in which this can be deducted from a number of scripture texts and even seen by way of Jesus doing so himself. We find that in Matthew 6:6 ………. when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. We also find in Mark 1:35 Jesus rose well before the day had started and went to a solitary place and prayed and in Luke 5:16 we see that Jesus withdrew himself into the wilderness, and prayed.

Look at all of these instances that Jesus sought the significance of communing with God intimately. One that I consider to be such a faithful example was when Jesus left his disciples and went to commune alone with God in The Garden of Gethsemane on the night of his betrayal. There is such great significance in communing alone with God. So don’t think it meaningless to have a moment with just you and your savior. This is when you talk about what’s important to you, this is when you seek solitude, its when you release troubling emotions, and lay down the burden of continual demands. There is just such great significance with knowing that your alone time with God births such a spiritual growth.

During the silent commune

Our silent prayers are heard by God and that which is in our hearts and our hearts are heard even louder. When we pray silently, the same power that is spoken is also just as capable because it is not the words that we speak, it is the belief in our heart. Psalm 139:23 states to search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: Asking God to search your heart takes much surrender. I believe that it is when you fully surrender yourself to Christ is when you are fully able to walk in the anointing that God has placed on your life.

During a silent commune, this is your time to talk with God. He wants to hear from your whole heart. He already know what’s in your heart but he wants you to confess it to him. There is no hidden thing that God cannot see but what he wants from you is to give all of yourself in complete and utter surrender. The Silent Commune just happens to be a place, a secret place, with a dedicated time that you happen to meet with the spirit of God.

Hopefully what happens during your Silent Commune is that you surrender, giving it all to Christ and laying down every burden that you have simply by confessing and communicating to a loving Father who wants to hear from you. As you commune often with the Father, you begin to not only grow spiritually but your faith begins to increase. You begin to realize that the quiet, silent prayer is just as powerful as opening your mouth to speak because as Hannah spoke from her heart and gave a vow to the Lord with the dedication of her son, we too are expected to submit our whole selves to the Lord when we come to the throne in need. There is power in your belief that God will answer and there is power in your commune that he is there, waiting, and ready for you.
