Well….
There she stood, unknowingly needing a fresh dip. A fresh quench of the true and living water. Her well had run dry.
How many times has it seemed like your well has run dry? I don’t mean the literal well that is used to access liquid resources; I mean the spiritual well that can be in drought of needing the full truth of the gospel, the spiritual well that needs to be awakened. What do you do? How can you take encouragement when you feel void? The questioned is asked but in more so of an affirmation that says, Why art thou cast down, O my soul? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance. Jesus declared it so to be the source of the living water, the gateway to the key of everlasting life. The great thing about receiving the true and living water {the spirit of God} is that it is available to all that desires it and it doesn’t run out. God’s spirit is everlasting and by taking part of the true and living water, it’s how life is revived back into you. You began to continually seek to be filled in the knowledge therein in which was already written. Take heart to know that even in the most remote location, or the farthest end of the earth, the Holy Spirit can visit you right where you are if you desire him to come in. Pursue love, yet earnestly desire and cultivate the spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy, to speak a new message from God to the people. And as the Christian body of believers cultivate these gifts, it does not seem profound, it does not seem simple, it doesn’t even seem arrogant. It only seems a hard thing to do because the alternative is an easy way to fall. It becomes necessary to do the very thing that we have been asked to do which is to go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.
The Encounter
Sometimes you can find yourself in a place that you don’t belong. It’s not because you aren’t good enough but because you know that you are better. You deserve better than what you have, including the lifestyle you live in. There is so much significance of how God will set your path to include the people, the very thing that you need and he still gets the glory out of it. Taken from the book of John chapter four, as the Messiah sought the need to move forward with his travel, he departed from Judea, and as it seems there was a mission already set for him to go, now again into Samaria. In verse four of the text it states that And he needs go through Samaria. There wasn’t a need for him to go through Samaria for himself, he needed to go for someone else. This someone was a woman that didn’t even realize that she was in need and she further didn’t realize how she would be used to spread the gospel. Although as the geographical map below reveals that the best route, if not only led through Samaria to get to Galilee, I don’t believe any other route would have changed his direction. It is important to see that Jesus still had an appointment to be just where he was needed.

Just Passing Through
The amplified version of verse four states that he had to go through Samaria. This part of the text was so astounding because the fate of the Samaritan woman’s life was already determined the moment that Jesus decided to cast his light upon her and give her a revelation of his identity. Jesus’ ultimate sacrifice included the race of all men but I especially admire how he made it his lifestyle to reach any man while on his destination. If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them gets lost, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountain and go in search of the one that is lost? And if it turns out that he finds it, I assure you and most solemnly say to you, he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine that did not get lost. So it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones be lost. Just take a moment right here and reflect on just how much care God has for you, even for the one that may be lost, the one lost sheep, that one lost soul! Not only will he chase you down in blessings but he will also chase you down in love!!! You may have heard the statement keep going until you reach your final destination. The thing about your final destination is that it’s not final until you complete your spiritual assignment and none of us are complete in our assignment as long as we are here on this earth. You can see how this statement could be translated in the instance of describing Jesus occurrences {especially his sacrifice} because there was ultimately a place his final destination led him to be. As we journey here on this earth, I will say just keep passing through and try to be content right well with the places that God lead you. I believe that Jesus’ destination was not all in part of getting to Galilee. Just as I believe that the experiences and things that we go through in life are not always about just one accomplishing thing, it involves more. The Samaritan woman was part of Jesus’ destination and not only that, all the people that she gathered to come witness Christ was also part of his destination. It was destined for them to take part in receiving the true and living water. And it’s just like you and I being on a certain path and although we don’t know what may lie ahead, we can take so much comfort in knowing that Jesus is part of our destination too, that we can pass right on through with Jesus by our side. The strength that you pray for, the resources that you need, the motivation that you reach inside for, and even the people that you meet are all part of a ministry that we must embrace as we pass through, in hope to pour out the message of the true and living God.
